Well, I royally screwed up and potentially lost all my data.
I had a server running storage spaces with parity, ReFS and deduplication. Pretty normal so far.
And then I made the mistake of booting a Windows 11 disk I had attached for deletion.
The people with technical knowledge of Windows might already guess what‘s happened.
Windows 11 happily upgraded my ReFS to the newest version, but can not read deduplicated blocks. Windows Server now can’t read the volumes as the filesystem is too new.
So I‘m stuck with one OS not recognizing my file system and one incapable of reading and files with deduplicated blocks.
Anyone here have an idea how to rescue my collection? Is there a preview Server with new ReFS support maybe?
At least my documents have a proper backup, but my curated music and TV series collection would be a sad loss.
Any idea would be appreciated.
