Put another way:
A community is your local coffeeshop, you see familiar faces, you can be yourself and feel like you're at home

And community isn’t built in the comments of an Instagram post or TikTok video
It needs dedicated spaces to breathe and evolve
That could be IRL or digital spaces

What is an audience?
An audience is a TV station. You sit in front of the TV wanting to be entertained
It's one-way communication, it's broadcast
Once you have an audience, you can convert a portion to a community through rituals and habits like IRL events, Q&As, web3 etc

How do you know when you have a community that's working?
Keep an eye on retention (how often people come back) and engagement (how often people contribute)
You'll see it go up if there is community/market fit
There is real ROI in community

Once you have a strong community, you can build a community-based product
That means:
- The community drives your growth
- The community helps define your product
- You spend less on ads
A community-based product is the new product-led growth
